That Time We Spent $3,000 on Some Cameras....

Before buying the cameras....we were REALLY rich!
The weekend was Halloween. Sam, the twins, and I were going to head to Seoul to celebrate and visit Marty. But the twins and I had another thing we needed to take care of....we were going to buy cameras!!! And not just any cameras.....dslr cameras!! We had all done our research and ended up with the same results.... The canon 600d. The same camera Sam had bought 2 months ago!

(This blog is a Get-Unsick-Present for Caitlin - I'm sure she is really grateful!)

Hanging out in the sales-room.
Saturday morning we woke up and were ready to do some shopping. Sam was going to take us to where she had purchased her camera....the guy had spoken English and given her a pretty nice deal. Unfortunately, her ability to maneuver the Seoul Subway System was not on the same level as her ability to get a good price on a camera, so we got a little lost. As lost people usually do, we walking around trying to find our way. After trying many directions and ideas to become unlost....there were only two options left....ask someone what to do or walk outside and then walk inside again. Since option 1 required speaking a language we don't know, we went with option 2. As we walked outside, we noticed a shopping center across the way. And what was in there? Cameras. It was an entire shopping center full of people selling cameras! Not where we wanted to go....but still a place that would fulfill our needs. Good job Sam!
As we walked in, we noticed that there were many booths of camera salesmen selling the exact same things! We decided on a game plan....since there were 4 of us, we would divide into pairs, scope out a vender, then report back to each other.

Counting out the money.
Sam thinks buying cameras is boring....

So much money can't go in a wallet... Just throw it in the purse!
The next hour consisted of us talking cameras. The way things were set up, each counter had a little couch and table in the center. After a salesman reeled you in with his loud "Good deal" and "discount" catcalls, he would sit you on the couch and talk about products. Luckily most of these guys spoke English, so we could find out what we needed. Some salesmen spent time with us, explaining how things worked, recommending different options, while some just gave us bare facts and weren’t very personable. They should have known better. After all, we were there to buy 3 cameras. A group like that doesn’t walk in the door every day.
After finding all the information our little brains could hold, we decided to go back to the salesman who had helped us the most. He was glad to see us, and started getting things together right away. After waiting for about 30 minutes, he informed us that there was only one camera available. A problem, because we wanted to buy three. After waiting so long this wasn’t good news, so we headed off to the second most helpful man's kiosk.

Counting it it out.

Before we arrived we wrote down all the prices we wanted. We skimmed off a few bucks here and there, trying to get the best price available. Luckily, it worked! The man gave us the price we asked for, gave us all the right equipment, and sent us on our way! We were in camera heaven!!

Trade it in for camera!

Of course, as soon as I could I popped it open and started taking pictures. Since we were in the process of putting on Halloween costumes, that’s what I took pictures of! I just couldn't stop!!
